Mission
To enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals in underserved Alabama communities through community/academic educational partnerships.

Overview
AHEC educational and training activities include the (1) AHEC Scholars Program; (2) community-based experiential training for health professions students in rural and underserved areas; (3) health careers pipeline activities for minority, rural and disadvantaged high school students; and (4) continuing education activities for practicing health professionals.
