Elmore County Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters Program

HIPPY helps parents prepare their two, three, four and five-year-old children for success in school and in life. A parent is a child’s first and most important teacher, and the home is a child’s first classroom. Families who participate in HIPPY create a home environment where learning is fun and education is valued. What is HIPPY? A free, home-based preschool program complete with storybooks and activity packets. A program designed to help parents help their children develop school readiness skills. A program that focuses on language development and problem solving skills, as well as all other basic skills necessary to enter school prepared to succeed. A parent educator role-plays the lessons with a parent. The parent will then work with his or her child for 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week, teaching them from the HIPPY lessons. The program, its curriculum, and all activities associated with it are 100% free to participating families.
