Cahaba Medical Care is a local community-based health organization that aims to be an incarnation of love, peace, and justice by guiding our patients through their journey towards physical, mental, and social well-being. All Cahaba Medical Care programs operate on the belief that substance use and mental health disorders are primary, treatable, though incurable diseases, manifesting through the mental, physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and economic deterioration of those affected. Restoration of the entire person is essential to arrest substance use disorders and mental illness. We view treatment as a restoration or recovery process that progresses through various stages, and is holistic in nature: provided within the context of other health and social concerns. CMC also recognizes that substance use disorder should be treated through the evidenced based philosophy of harm reduction and empirically significant treatment regimens and therapies, such as medication assisted treatment and cognitive behavioral therapies.
