Bethesda Family and Community Development Center - PAT

The Parents as Teachers (PAT) model provides support to mothers, fathers, and other caregivers of young children in their own home. The monthly visits include developmental screenings, links to community resources, guidance to set and achieve personal goals, and fun activities that support your children's individual needs. Our goal is to help parents become their child's best first teacher. PAT is designed to - Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve positive parenting practices - Provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services - Improve parent, child and family health and well-being - Prevent child abuse and neglect - Increase children’s school readiness and success - Improve family economic well-being - Strengthen community capacity and connectedness
