Alabama Lifespan Respite

The mission of Alabama Lifespan Respite is to increase access to and availability of high-quality respite resources for all family caregivers in Alabama. Alabama Lifespan Respite provides full-time, unpaid family caregivers statewide with family caregiver directed/personal choice option respite reimbursement services; free, current and relevant caregiver respite education, training, and public awareness onsite and online; one-on-one respite resource information and referrals; technical assistance for startup or expansion of community-based respite services; free caregiver mental health counseling; and caregiver advocacy. UCP Huntsville’s Alabama Lifespan Respite program is funded by an Administration on Community Living/Administration on Aging Federal Lifespan Respite grant with support from the Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS), the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS), and stakeholder partnerships of the Governor-appointed Alabama Lifespan Respite Coalition.
