The Healing Place

Our mission is to offer support to grieving children and families in an atmosphere of trust and acceptance in order to promote a sense of well-being and productivity in our participants. At The Healing Place, our focus is children aged 3-19 and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one including a sibling, a parent, grandparent, friend, or other loved one that may need support or guidance in dealing with the grief associated with the loss. The Healing Place has strong partnerships with local schools that refer children to our grief services, provide meeting space at their schools for the grief support sessions, and help evaluate the impact of the program with the children at their schools. The Healing Place counselors conduct support groups on a monthly basis and provides help, hope, and healing to over 450 children and teens. The Healing Place provides weekly support groups for children and teens between the ages of 4-19. The support groups are held on Thursdays throughout the month. A snack supper is provided at 5:45pm and the group starts at 6:00pm. We also provide in person or virtual individual and family grief support and education as well as an annual day camp and special events throughout the year.
